FWIW, I'm loving the longer posts on this board. Keep 'em coming, everyone!
Blahhh Blahhh Blahhh !
Get a life dude, you from the army or something.
"There is much more to be said of making a kid from the East end of Monroe an academic all star, than a kid from Carrington. The kids from Carrington are expected to be, the kid from the east end may never be. Please don't tell me its a level playing field.
I'm not sure who you are, but at times you sound knowledgable, which is great for the blog, but as for a realistic approach of SMCC vs. the rest of the league, you have missed the boat entirely.
Maybe someday you will get it."
This has been said many times before by others... or maybe it was you, not sure.
Are you saying that SMCC gets a better brand of child? Because that's what I read into it. Not something I think is necessarily true and if it were, its not something Im going to apologize for.
You pick the most extreme circumstance to make your point.
There are PLENTY of kids who attend SMCC and do not live in Carrington or any place like that. I too could go on and on...
Lets just stick to football and the facts.
SMCC has three 180 pound offensive lineman who are all juniors btw and a 150 lb 5'6 nose tackle. Their best RB (debatable) weighs 160lbs and that 150 lb nose tackle is also the full back.
There are 4 teams in the league who are twice that size nearly and have great Qbs and awesome RB's.
I don't see, on the field man to man, how SMCC has such a huge advantage over anyone else. They only have 31 on Varsity. Maybe the 2nd lowest number in the league(its pretty close)
Huron and Tecumseh both had teams who were WAAYYYY bigger then SMCC. (Are you going to argue that they are from the east end of their area thus cant be good? I doubt you will.) Huron and Tecumseh will win a lot of games this year but lost by a combined score of 75-20. I give the credit to a little bit of fortune indeed, but mainly to the coaching staff.. SMCC has a very good one. especially the head guy.
I often wonder if coaches think like you do and just fold their tents when they play SMCC.. "I mean they get a better brand of kid so we have no chance, despite the fact we are much bigger than them and have comparable QB and RB."
I hope coaches and players don't think like that or like you do, I should say.
Like I always say, Losers make excuses
If your team was winning and beating SMCC you would not be saying any of this. NOBODY WOULD.
Its only because they are good at some sports and thus you have to find a reason your lil Johnnie keeps losing.
Those are called excuses and oh by the way... only losers make them. Winners don't make excuses.

It is old news of SMCC's situation, but you know what, its true. I could go on and on. This is always denied. I went to SMCC, I did not care for it and I have no regrets. I am currently a major part of the youth sports community around here, CYO, first downers, basketball, baseball, etc. I have my opinions, you have yours. Until your on the public school side of the fence, you will never understand. You just preach work hard, losers have excuses and all that. Public school is reality, you have to deal with all comers, not just the best of the best.

I won't continue to argue with you any further, lets play ball!
I looked back at last years blog stuff. Milan was getting the same treatment as CC is now. Everyone whining and complaining.
Just goes to show you if you are on top, some people will try to take you down anyway they know how. Even if it is by undermining the hard work of 16-17 year old kids.
"Most people in my neck of the woods don't care for CC"
If that doesn't say it all then I don't know what will.
I will let that statement speak for itself

Each year you get new sets of parents in here bringing up the same old stuff. It just gets so old.
I've been with the blog since it's inception. You wouldn't believe what gets said on here. And that's only the stuff Chris let's through.
My take is, if someone in life is better than you at something it's a good lesson to try and better yourself in order to compete rather than whine and cry and complain and moan over and over and over.
All the names on CCs team are household CC names over the years.
Maybe they are just good. Maybe they work hard just like everyone else.
Maybe they have a heck of a coach.
It's easier to come up with excuses as to why ones better than you than it is to come up with reasons.
Work hard, get better, have fun
The playing field is equal

I have some great kids and I bet our kids have probably met. Most people in my neck of the woods don't care for CC and we all are going to turn out just fine. Plus save a good $30,000 to put toward college.
I do not appreciate that comment

And yes Michigan has dominated michigan state in the last 70 years also. How's that one working out lol
I hope you don't teach that sort of attitude to your children.
