Grosse Ile (3-2) is coming off of a 38-36 double overtime victory over Milan While Airport (3-2) was beaten by SMCC 28-7. Airport won last seasons game 27-7 and have won four of the last five games in the series.
Grosse Ile made a nice comeback against Milan last week. The offense was led by Andrew Mitroka who threw for 247 yards and ran for another 76. Sophomore DT Dominic Trombley played what may had been his best game of the season as he recorded 9 solo tackles.
Airport’s offense continues to center around RB Dylan Meiring who had over 100 yards against SMCC. The defense was once again led by A.J. Gorteski and Eddie Smith
This is a great match up and is a game that could go either way. GI has struggled against good defenses, but with Mitroka throwing the ball well that could change things. Airport’s one dimensional offense may struggle with the Red Devils active LB’s. Tough call, but I have to make a pick. Prediction: Grosse Ile 21 Airport 19

Airport wins this one by 14 the weather will be the main factor. Rain and wind equals a infective passing game. Good weather GI wins, Airports secondary is questionable at best.
GI scored first possession, fourth down pass from about AP 40
Then GI should build a dome.
I thought GI would win this 2 weeks ago but now I have to side with the jets in s squeeker.
28-27 in OT

Nothing like a good marching band. Those kids work hard.

Even though both schools have marching bands bigger than their football teams, it's Airport all the way.
This will be the closest game, but there are only 11 comments. My friends at Airport pull off the win.
Good one bn. I'm sure i have picked Airport to lose once or twice in the last 5 years.....maybe. EM
EM, what year did you graduate from Airport?
neutral field
[2014] Airport (Carleton, MI) 31, [2014] Grosse Ile (MI) 27

Huge game with a lot of play off pull for both team. If GI goes to the air this week I see a victory in the near future for the islanders. 28-21
Hey his record isn't bad.. he is 32-18 since the start of the blog.. coincidentally that happens to be Airports record as well.... haha
