The Huron Chiefs are coming off of a season where they started 1-4, but were able to rally and finish with a winning record of 5-4. That was only the second time since 1978 that the Chiefs had accomplished that feat.
Offensively, the Chiefs will be led by junior QB Matt Hartwick and senior RB Ian Robinson. Last season the two accounted for 1,450 rushing yards and fifteen TD’s. They will run behind a line that will be anchored by seniors Jonathan Krug, Chase McKay and Dustin Vukas. Senior Devin Collins will be Hartwick’s main receiving threat.
On the defensive side of the ball the Chiefs will be led by seniors Logan Ritchie and John Wellman. The defensive line will be anchored by junior Jacob Davis while the Chiefs expect big contributions from juniors Jacob Fryer, Steele White and John Wodarski.
This is a season that could go either way for the Chiefs. After week one opponent, Huron squares off against the big three of the league in Grosse Ile, SMCC and Milan. If they can come out of those games at 2-2 or better, the playoffs could be a possibility. Prediction: 5-4
