Just thought I would throw some thoughts out there on how the teams might do this season. Still have research to do on every team, but this should give people something to chew on.
Airport (3-6) Non-league schedule keeps Jets from winning record.
Flat Rock (1-8) The Rams will find a way to win a game this season.
Grosse Ile (8-1) Islanders need to avoid the injury bug this season.
Huron (5-4) Chiefs must find a way to split the first four games.
Jefferson (3-6) Bears are getting better
Milan (6-3) Big Reds must beat Marshall in the season opener.
Riverview (5-4) Too many great players to replace this season.
SMCC (8-1) Falcons appear poised for a league title and long playoff run.

SMCC baseball ended June 7th. The summer travel team with SMCC kids on it didn't start till July. I can see this is a no win situation. I will find flaws in your comments and you will find flaws in mine. whatever. Just browsing blog trying to bring peoples head down to size. Always the worst at CC. We will see how season goes.
By the way my kid
"Football wise, Jones, Antonelli, O lear, O lear, Fleck, Bitz, Czarnowski, Castiglione, Couturier, Couturier, and Corbin are gone. That's 11. Just to name a few. Quit arguing about this, its a down year, you have lost some great players, deal with it. We all have cycles, just have to admit it.
Have a nice day guys !"
Jones was the kicker, Antonelli hurt all year, one couturier was out 6 games. CZ, Cas and Fleck will be missed.. Corbin as well. Thats why i said 5-6. The others have excellent replacements. I wonder who your team is, lets see how they fair against a so called down year Falcon team.
Basketball all of June. They didn't get done with high school baseball until June 14th and had baskeball until June 27th. And the coach never demands them to miss baseball. Even though my son plays baseball and it's basically a jv summer league. He is going to try out for basketball and was never once told he had to attend. You think coaches coach harder when they don't have the talent. Just know your facts on these before spouting off. Football, I don't have a horse in that race so don't know about that
Just what I expected. No sweat. Every year its lost 3 or 4 kids and returning 16. right. The records will tell. 10:44 you proved my point. Baseball lost all its starters but 1. Same situation in the other sports. Wow! Why are you all so afraid to admit this. Basketball the same, that's why next years varsity played summer basketball all of June and didn't allow any of the baseball players to play until July. Never done that before. Should I keep going.

FR went 5-4 in 2007. The last time before that was in 1990. There are many things that have contributed to the Rams demise in football. It ranges from low turnout, administration apathy, poor coaching hires, no weight program, parent interference, limited talent pay to play, and some bad luck. Plus, there are no gimmees in football anymore. Huron used to be a win every year while Airport was beatable until 1998.
Tom Oestrike was a good hire. He is doing everything right. A weight program is in place. The players like him. Administration has become supportive. and interest is starting to creep back. Losing a lot of games doesn't help at all, but despite the record last year and probably this year, the program is headed in the right direction.
In the last 10 seasons how many times was SMCC supposed to admit they were down? 1?
again... the 4:57 poster has no idea what he is talking about.

Relax there Lee Corso, almost all predictions are wrong every year on here, just adding to the pile. The order may change, but nobody will be 8-1. And yes, SMCC is down from last year. I have been on this blog since it started, there has never been a year or a time when SMCC admits a down season. Talent is down, this senior class is not the talent of last years class. Sorry its the truth. I know the kids. Watch in basketball and baseball too"
Officially NO CLUE. SMCC is MUCH better than last year. They lost 5-6 good players from last years team... thats including the twins. How many other teams can boast that. Yes I agree that Huron GI and SMCC are better than last year. Milan we will see about. I would venture to say that every team in the league will be better minus View and Milan.
Don't think CC is down by any means. However, the senior class they had last year it was exceptional. Watched a few of them in the All-Star game. Some very good players....
As for Jefferson been great. Work on a winning record before trying to take the league.
I'm a 1995 Flat Rock graduate. Played football, basketball and ran track. I've moved out of state after graduating college in 1999, however, have always followed FR as well as the Huron League. Why is the Flat Rock football program absolutely awful year in & year out? We've had competitive boys basketball and baseball teams fairly consistently, however, the football program has been miserably bad for decades. There are enough talented kids at the school to not be the annual doormats which they've become. Don't get me wrong, by no means am I saying league championship talent, however, talented enough to at least hover around the .500 mark. With a little luck potentially sneak into a playoff spot with 6 wins. I don't believe we've had a winning record since 1990. Which was also the last time we qualified for the post season. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Perplexed alumni in Texas.
Cc is not down from last year they should be much better than last year. How is this senior class not as good as last years?
