SMCC (10-1) is coming off of a wild 44-40 playoff win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard while Clarenceville improved to 10-0 with a 31-22 win over Detroit University Prep. These two teams last met in the 2000 playoffs with the Trojans winning 25-19.
Offensively, Clarenceville is led by junior QB Jake Kubiak. Much of the offense will come from senior RB Jalen Bryant. The offensive line is led by seniors Drake Taylor and Ibn Ali.
Defensively, the Trojans give up a paltry 11 ppg. The defense is led by junior Santoy Reese and seniors Jawan Nelson and David Curvin.
SMCC will contimue with it’s punishing running game. All three SMCC RB’s put up gaudy numbers last week but it was the passing game that continues to surprise when needed.
Defensively, the Falcons keep giving up big numbers but do just enough to win. The rush defense has been solid during the playoffs after playing in the run happy Huron League while the pass defense is a continued work in progress.
Another tough game to figure out and it will most likely be high scoring. Clarenceville is undefeated but would have struggled to be .500 in the Huron League. Pick: SMCC 40 Clarenceville 32

Oh boy! It,s over......again.
Nice !! Finally some SMCC folks come out of the woodwork.
GO FALCONS !!
Giarmo's wife teaches at jefferson, I think she has a an idea of the reality there. And I agree with the 2:04 poster, you are all idiots for saying such thinga about each other. Good luck to CC.
You are all idiots.
Why is it so hard to just cheer SMCC on. Obviously they have some talented kids that work together as a team or they wouldnt be still playing while other teams seasons have been over for weeks. Our QB dosnt get sacked all that often because our line does its job. They play as a team and depend on each other maybe thats why they are still in the play offs.
What fun would it be without ending the year with a little rivalry pot stirring.
My points are very basic, obviously there is much more to that.
We all know the reasons SMCC wins, we could argue that forever.
Some good, some bad.
Lastly, we all know that Giarmo would not have the success he has if he were at any other school.
Hands down. You make fun of the beaches, well I guarantee you Giarmo would have no better success with the same kids. Public school is reality. Dealing with reality is much tougher than having kids that have gone to private, sheltered school all their life. I will take our coaches over yours any day of the week.
To 8:20 am
The player you are talking about #44 is Austin Corbin who is a senior this year. And i have to agree with you he is always pumped up and fun to watch. I hope he reads this or someone tell him to never loose his passion and energy! Go Green and Gold!
@9:30 get comfortable because this is going to take a while......
First off, you are no Kirby Smart. I'm guessing by your lack of football knowledge that you dont know who that is so ill tell you, he is Alabama's defensive coordinator. Football is a game of schemes, if it were so easy to stop every aspect of every offense don't you think somebody other then yourself would have come up with it by now? "Move the line backers up" , wow, can't believe no coach has thought of that before! Ha, maybe because if you do that and have a missed tackle inside, lights out.
As for toughness in the QB, he gets tackled or hit on almost every play while carrying out fakes, it doesn't seem to bother him. Now, if toughness to people out there if a good old fashioned fist fight in the beaches....my man is a three sport star and has no time for your foolishness.
Lastly you did make one valid point, CC is not loaded with much more talent then anyone else. Watching CC and Jefferson this year I would give the athletic advantage to Jefferson just like every other year. So when the day comes that potential and apparently QB toughness are the determining factor on who wins football games you guys will be in great shape! Until then, at least now you won't have to sit around and wonder why CC wins with less talent then you or anyone else, it's called discipline and a great coach, you may have heard of the guy once or twice.
Hey, just tell it like it is.
You did. Look what 1-8 did. Not a lot of difference between 8-1 and 1-8. Few things here and there. Thats my point.
I have family in Livonia. Still want to see SMCC win though.
Always has to be a backhanded compliment from someone. Give SMCC credit and root for them only makes the league look better. Good luck
