Milan @ Airport

Milan (7-0) beat Flat Rock last week 41-14 while Airport (3-4) fell at Huron 28-21. Milan defeated Airport twice last season; 41-0 in week 8 and then in the 1st round of the playoffs 14-7.

Milan just keeps rolling along with a diverse offense and excellent defense led by Austin Hoover, Robert kanitz and CJ Duffiney.

Airport is most likely out of the playoffs for the first time since 1997. Things just haven’t come together for the Jets this season. The offense and defense are both right there but haven’t gotten over the hump when needed.

There doesn’t seem to be anything that can stop Milan right now. Good coaching, toughness and speed are a great combination in high school football or any level for that matter. Pick Milan 35 Airport 14

  • Nothing to get over with! You just make it sound like Milan is the greatest team ever and have all the best players in the league. But you crumble when anyone takes about the playoffs. If "your" team is so good why do you sell them so short during playoff time. If they are so great like you talk then they should be able to do something in the playoffs. Yet you just make excuses about the playoffs really don't matter. So I guess they really are not good enough .

  • Is this conversation really happening? Airport is the poster child for one and done playoff appearances. And you are giving it to Milan fans? They won, get over it and get better. Not good enough to just get 6 wins a year to play an extra week.

  • Every team shoots for playoff success every year. If Milan wants to hang their hat on a regular season they will never have any kind of real success in their program. You have to learn to push for bigger and better things to become an elite program. Why do you sell your program so short? To bad for the kids!

  • "Oh well" if they lose in the playoffs . Wow what a program you have out there. The better teams year after year go to the playoffs and have success and that is what gives a program a reputation of being good and feared year after year. Not just two years of winning.

  • 8:46.......Milan fans can care less about the playoffs or who is who in state rankings. In case you didnt notice this is a "Huron League Football" blog. Perhaps you might look for another blog to live and die in the playoffs. If our boys play in the playoffs....great.....if they lose...oh well...We will be in the stands to support our team. But before any team can claim any title.....Around here you have to claim the Huron League Champ title 1st. Good luck to ALL the teams that made the playoffs this season. We here in Milan hope they all do well no matter the divison.

  • Milan blah blah blah can't wait to see you fall in the playoffs. Not good enough to win even two games. Some of you people talk like you have the greatest team ever. I guess when you have two good seasons you think your a BBR,DCC,FHH or even a Muskegon.

  • It does not matter what any of us think. Fact is there are great players on every team in the league. The next fact is the Milan TEAM plays to win. The Milan TEAM is more than a TEAM, that's why they are soon to be 8-0 and back to back out right Huron League Champs. No one can have any other opinion.

  • If you look at Airports sucess over the past 15 years it is a rise starting in 1998. From 1998 enrollment went from 830 students and peaked in 2006 with 1040 students. Also they had a great coach come in. Enrollment over the past 5 years has gone back down to the 1998 level of 832 students this year. They had all the chips fall into place at the right time and they took advantage of it.
