Riverview (5-2) is coming off of a 56-49 loss to SMCC while Grosse Ile (4-3) got back in the win column by defeating Jefferson 20-12. The Islanders beat the Pirates last season 40-13 while the teams have split the last 10 games.
Riverview is capable of scoring on offense every time they run a play unfortunately the other team is capable of scoring every time that they run a play as well.
Grosse Ile rebounded nicely last week after everyone including this blogger had written them off for the rest of the season. The offense scored just enough while the defense shut down a Jefferson offense that had been playing well.
Both teams need this game. Riverview needs one more win to qualify for the playoffs while GI needs this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Tough call, I would have liked to have seen both teams healthy here. Pick: Riverview 35 Grosse Ile 21

....#8 and #53.
Is #5 a senior ?? I sure hope so. Nice player.
View will hang 50 on GI
Gilliam and Stewart were both big anchors for that D. Having them back plays a huge part. GI's Mitroka-less offense is starting to come together so expect an upset. 42-35
GI has Gilliam and Stewart back this week, views offense should be slowed by those DTs. GI still wont win, but itll be closer
View 35, GI 20
Stergalas shows no mercy in this matchup. Riverview 55 GI 21
I think you are being kind on that score. You can't take what is essentially a brand new team and expect to win, or even do well against a team who has been successful all season. It's a heartbreaker, but the GI team is what it is and their best is all they can bring
