SMCC (2-0) is coming off of a 50-7 thrashing of Flat Rock while Huron (1-1) is looking to bounce back after a disappointing 28-3 loss to Grosse Ile. The Falcons won last season’s match up 32-22.
It’s tough to tell where SMCC is at based on the schedule thus far. Offensively the Falcons will continue to run, run, run. Defensively they may get their first test with the Chiefs most likely providing an offense capable of scoring.
Offensively the Chiefs will look to limit the turnovers. They were able to move the ball up and down the field last week but didn’t take care of the ball. Defensively the LB’s will need to limit SMCC’s big play ability on the ground.
A victory for SMCC and they’re right where they expected to be with Grosse Ile next up on the schedule. A win for Huron would mean the Chiefs are in the thick of the league race. Pick: SMCC 36 Huron 24

What does GI and SMCC have in common? Both scored 28 points vs. Huron and kept Huron out of the end zone. Both also gave up 7 points to FR. Right now, I would say neither team is "better" but both are 3-0. That is why the games are played. It should be a great game. Speculators will speculate ... but we will all know which team is better next Friday night.
Make up your mind coach is correct! Throwing kids out there into positions they don't play isn't going to win the game. Not quite sure what he was thinking!

It was nice seeing some of the fine Huron people I got to know over the 4 years coaching the 3rd and 4th graders in their Jr. Football program. I think Huron has a fine football team and will "turn the corner" this year. They are not however ready to win the Huron League. Going back to early season predictions, SMCC is the team to beat for the next few years.
21-0 CC
Your arrogance is killing me!
It should be a tough game for both teams and a great night to watch it. I think SMCC has a defensive line were it can defend a pass on a regular bases this year unlike in years pass. This seems to be where they struggle. And If Huron dosnt make the mistakes they did last week it should be a exciting game. It might have hurt SMCC by playing the first 2 teams they did and the kids might not be as prepared. ALso Huron might struggle mentally after last weeks loss. Im not going to even try to guess who is going to win but I will say the winning team will win by oh 3-6 points. I don't think it will be a blow out.
That's why the game is played on the field and not on this blog. SMCC parent- going to be a good game tonite. GO FALCONS!!!
