Both teams are coming off of week one losses to SEC opponents. Airport lost at home to Adrian 27-7 while Jefferson lost to Tecumseh 47-7. The Jets won last season’s contest 35-28.
Jefferson struggled both offensively and defensively last week. The offense ran the ball a lot but looked to pass more often than years past.
Airport struggled on offense last week as the Jets were basically breaking in a new backfield. The Jet defense struggled a bit as well but will most likely improve in week two.
This is a tough game to pick. This is a pretty fierce rivalry and neither team wants to start 0-2. Both new head coaches would like to get their first win the opening week of league play. Pick Airport 21 Jefferson 20

I will give you a hint. All coaches play favorites. Their favorite players are the guys that give you the best chance to win. Obviously, I'm kidding somewhat but most coaches play the kids who give them the best chance to win period.
I wonder what it will take for Baas to move around a couple of players from defense to offense to give them the chance to play offense. Most of the JV team from last year isn't getting hardly any playing time. I don't believe he's using guys for the strengths they've earned. It's too bad because some have lost their faith in the way they play because the coach has favorites.
If Airport keeps Sandore in check, they win by 2 TDs. If Sandore has a big game, this will go down to the wire. EM
Jefferson did a lot of different things this week following the loss(compared to years past). Discipline and TEAM effort are coming to light. This will definitely be a better weekend in Newport.
Honestly I think it would take 0-9 for that to even be considered. I don't think that will happen in a million years this season
3 or 4 might be an over estimation. I dont know who their other non league opponent is, but Flat Rock is the only team I see them beating in the Huron League.
I don't see any way possible that they would do that to him.
Hey Chris could Baas be one and done if he only wins 3 or 4 games? Or might he get a pass since he has a young team?
Without a doubt Carleton.
Where is there more panic Saturday morning after a loss? Carleton or Newport?
