Michigan Collegiate (6-3) is coming off of a 24-0 loss at the hands of Divine Child while SMCC (7-2) closed out the year with a 49-6 victory over Ypsilanti. This will be the first time these two teams have met in football.
The Cougars are just one of a handful of teams in the state of Michigan that can boast an all time winning percentage better than SMCC. Collegiate started their program in 2008 and have never had a losing season. The Cougars are no strangers to the playoffs as this is their 4th consecutive trip to the state playoffs. Last season Collegiate finished 11-1 overall and the previous season the Cougars made it to the state semi-finals while finishing 11-2.
The Cougars boast a roster of 38 players of which 19 are seniors and most have been a part of the recent playoff success. Offensively, Collegiate is led by sophomore QB Rudy Hayes and junior RB Larry Bell. Defensively, the Cougars are led by sophomore LB’s Jamell Smith and Kenneth Butler.
SMCC will counter with their powerful running game out of the straight T led by senior signal caller Michael Wilson. A host of Falcons will carry the ball with the hothand getting most of the carries. Look for sophomore Josh Czarniowski to have an impact and possibly freshman Justin Carrabino. Defensively, the Falcons will be led senior LB and captain Levi Eddings.
Kick off is set for 7:00 pm Friday night. Both teams may be a year away from playing some of their best football but this should be a good matchup. Collegiate has more playoff experience but the Falcons have played a little better schedule. The Cougars speed will pose some problems for the Falcons while SMCC’s discipline and deception should be an advantage. Pick: SMCC 32 Warren Collegiate 20

Carrabino is a freshman. Don't think he will be a factor. Not sure where that came from. Lots of good kids already on varsity.
LETS GO SMCC! YOU GOT THIS!
Got ya
Redding is overrated. He did virtually nothing against Divine Child last week with the starting QB out of the lineup. Haven't heard if the Q be back or not after he got smashed against Chandler Park two weeks ago.
on an article i found it says gabe sanders is their qb and tommie bush is their rb, was this last years team?
They have nineteen returning seniors but most of their skill guys are sophomores and juniors.
Please elaborate on these changes that Coach Giarmo made?
First you say the seniors were part of the recent success and now you say it's really a different team. Um ok
SMCC should pull off a win if there defense is at the top of there game. Dont know why but Jack changed his line up and it is not working very well. They are pulling off the win but Way to many mistakes. Fire up SMCC
The problem is that he can't throw the ball to himself. He averages 4 catches per game.
I just watch a little of the video. Most of it was senior players from last season. Really, it's a different team.
