  • A good JV does not guarantee a good varsity ... read the fine print "results may vary." However, a good program year in and year out can be positively affected by a good JV and freshman program ... even younger players learning the game at an elementary age is a positive thing for the future coaches they will play for.

  • Been there, done that guys. Whole new game each year. SMCC always good at lower levels to keep the recruits coming. Most schools don't care as much. All boils down to varsity. SMCC overturned whole apple cart last year when JV started 0-3. Jefferson FRosh 8-1 last year. Kicked your but and everybody elses, 1 year later, kids hurt, moved up, everything else. Quit tooting your own horn. See you on Varsity.

  • Jefferson's 8th grade seems pretty good, though. Finally got a chance to see my nephew (#72) play when his 8th grade Bears team travelled to Milan. Milan was up by 18 in the 3rd, only to lose the game 34-32. Defense took the night off. :)
