Harper Woods Chandler Park @ Grosse Ile

Chandler Park (6-2) is coming off of a 44-6 loss to Warren De La Salle while Grosse Ile (8-1) beat Detroit Henry Ford Creative Studies 41-0. These two teams have never met in football.

This is only the fifth season of football for the Eagles of Chandler Park but this is the fourth consecutive year of qulifying for the playoffs.

Chandler Park is led by 6’3″ 185 lb three star University of Michigan recruit Csonte’ York. York has the ability to dominate a game from his WR position or on special teams. Defensively the Eagles are led by 6’3″ 220lb DE Andre Turner who has committed to Western Michigan.

Chandler Park is a program that will continue to get better over the years as many of the eastside Police Athletic League players continue to filter into the school in Harper Woods.

Grosse Ile will continue to run the ball from the spread while being opportunistic with the pass. Defensively the Red Devils must tackle well and try to limit the big plays of the Eagles.

This is a scray game for Coach John Bodner. His Red Devils don’t boast any Division 1 talent and are a relatively small team but look for the home team to send a message that you must put eleven players on the field at one time. Pick: Grosse Ile 28 Chandler Park 19

  • That's probably why the Gatemaster wouldn't allow a CP parent in the game with his half finished bottle of water. Good thing they didn't see my peanuts hidden in my jacket.

  • Hey Chris, when you get to the playoffs everything from admission to program costs is regulated by the MHSAA. They also get all the money. Home team only gets concession.

  • Appreciate the scoop on this team.
Great to be able to see a summary on the competition. Hopefully Grosse Ile can make a long run, would be great for their program.
Hope they stick to what got them this far. Some schools change it up in the playoffs, stick to what your good at.
    Good Luck GI !!

  • I picked GI to win. I just think there could be some problems. The Chandler Park coach Jergovich is no push over. The guy can coach.

  • There not just small but simply quick. Your comment is way too shallow. Yes they are small and quick. But they're also aggressive, smart, create and limit turnovers, play as a team, limit penalties, etc, etc. GI is/does all the things you expect from a good team. Size does matter! But everything mentioned herein matters more.

  • Yea chris we been hearing that every week from our opponents! And 8 of 9 of them were wrong so don't feel bad.
