Both of these teams are coming off wins last week. Flat Rock (1-3) defeated Jefferson 28-20 while Riverview (2-2) downed Huron 28-27. The Pirates won last season’s game in Riverview 41-29.
Riverview is a team that has baffled many. The Pirates have a solid offense that can score but the defense has been less than stellar.
Flat Rock has been better than anyone expected this season but still only boast a 1-3 record. The defense is solid and the offense is improving.

FR spoils again! Hungry for home win.

Unfortunately for Riverview I think FR may have found their groove. This team has experience they just have a new coach. With the win last week and the close game against Airport, they just may be starting to trust themselves.
Riverview has also learned a few things. They can play ball and score but they have to show up and play 48 mins. But with their stable of backs, they are never out of a game. They must now learn that if you have team down at the half, you must get them on a three and out on their first possession of the half and you must score on yours.
Flat Rock appears to be playing better defense than the Pirates so I too, like their chances. They have three loses and wont run the table the rest of the season but the program has shown a resurgence with the biggest turnout of boys in years. They can be spoilers and unfortunately for the Pirates I think they probably will.
This is a MUST win for Riverview if they want to see the playoffs. Lets see if they can step up and make a statement.
