Milan @ Flat Rock

Both teams are coming off of solid victories last week. Milan continued their worst to first travels by improving to 5-0 with a convincing 35-20 victory over SMCC while Flat Rock (2-3) put together a win streak for the first time since the 2009 season after beating Riverview 38-3. Flat Rock won last season’s contest 21-14 which was their first over Milan since 1967.

Milan appears to be in the drivers seat for this year’s league championship. The Big Reds continued with a solid offensive output last week behins the legs of Arthur Dukes and the arm of Justin Aceves. Milan also boast one of the best defenses in the league while yielding just over 13 ppg.

The Rams seem to be playing their best football in years led by first year Head Coach and 2001 Flat Rock graduate Tom Oestrike. The Rams are led by a physical defense that yields just 14 ppg and rugged running back Mike Blosser.

This won’t be an easy road for the league leading Big Reds. Flat Rock will be fired up for their homecoming and boast a solid run defense. I’ll be there hanging with some old friends. Pick: Milan 21 Flat Rock 14

  • Milan's D.A.K. offense will roll...Dukes, Aceves, Kanitz...

The D will keep FR in a hole...

Only if the Big Red fall asleep then FR has a chance.

  • This game has the makings to be the game of the week for sure, but you have to realize the GI vs FR outcome was way misleading, a couple pick 6s at in opportune times really destroyed the moral of FR

Only way Milan wins is if they get on the board early

Watch for Flat Rock to come out strong and tough,

    PICK: Flat Rock 24-14

  • Aceves at Milan is having the best year as a quarterback. Like as an actual passer. Most quarterbacks in this league just run the ball. Which Aceves has shown he is capable of but look at his passing stats. They are pretty impressive. He is kind of the no brainer for first team all league qb.

  • I didn't see the article. I'm assuming it wasn't very flattering. He didn't leave the cupboard bear Tom walked into a pretty nice situation. He led them to their first winning season in a long long time back in 08. Joe was a good guy tough to say a bad word about him.

  • Hank Minkiewicz of the news herald sure let his feeling of Pruchnicki known in one of his article, do you agree with him Chris?

  • The only comparable game is Grosse Ile v. FR and the score was 28-3. I see something similar this week.

But who knows, the longer the game stays close the more confidence a team gets.

We will find out what kind of a team Milan is in the favorite role. They are no longer under the radar now.

  • If Milan keeps their head out of the clouds they could easily go up by 30 points.

If they get cocky, FR sounds to be hungry.

But the fact that FR had a close game against Jefferson tells me that FR is going to get steamrolled. Here comes a big offensive night for the Big Reds.

  • If milan can get the ground game eerily i say milan 35 to 14 and if the D keeps it up its going to be along game

  • First, both have good defenses, Second, Flat Rock shows signs they can play good football, Milan is just clicking right now, playing real good on both sides. That being said, Milan should not take Flat Rock lightly, they will be ready and fired up for Homecoming, if Milan plays like they did last Friday they win, I'm going to be conservative...
Milan: 28 -vs- Flat Rock: 14
