These teams appear to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. Grosse Ile (4-1) is coming off of a 28-14 win over Airport while Jefferson (1-4) is still stinging from a 38-3 loss to Huron. Grosse Ile won last season 41-12.
Jefferson has a good running game but it is the defense that will need to step up if they want to beat the Islanders.
Grosse Ile just keeps plugging along. A good offense and a very good defense can take you a long way.
This could be the easiest pick of the season but could be a trap game for the Devils. Pick: Grosse Ile 28 Jefferson 7

11:26 and 5:01 .... morons
If you can groom a 9th or 10th grader to run the varsity for 3 or 4 years ya gotta do it. 2 QBs for 7 years. Not gonna find too many coaches that wouldnt love that.
PS... all the players on the JV team are 9th or 10th graders. It also seems like half of them are injured.
DUDEs and "Y" show will thrive under the homecoming lights. Jeff will have to play "lights-out" to even get close.
Stranger things have happened in HL football for sure, but not this week.
38-6 Devils. (Likely to break 40's)

11:26 poster....Yes it's legal. They stated this years ago I also heard that the 7th grader is a starter and is being groomed to be like White from last year and Mitroke and they also have another 7th grader that they are grooming as a running back to be just like Kish was or Christan this year. They found success last year with that combo they want to keep it going.
Also 24-24 isn't fairly well when it comes to scores....
@11:26 Oh my goodness, Really? Grosse Ile does not have a 7th grader on JV. In fact, GI JV has had so many injuries that it is playing mostly first time players who are freshman. Both QB's were out one broken foot, one broken arm so they put Judd in to see what he could do. Now Judd is out with a broken leg. Please...quit with the rumors.
I just cant see Jefferson hanging with GI, I think GI has a better offense, they spread it out very well, their defense is solid, Jefferson shows signs they can score, but their defense hasn't really stopped anyone which to me is a bad sign for them. that being said ...
GI: 35 -vs- Jefferson: 14
Teams are starting to scout GI's offense pretty good and starting to work on defenses to stop their spread. Airport did fairly well against it. GI's offense will be around awhile, so everybody is practicing for it. I hear GI has a 7th grade QB on JV that they are grooming into this offense. Is that legal?? Jefferson is adapting to it and has the speed to put a crimp in it.
Go Bears 28-21 !!
GI struggled to score against Airport's D last week. They will struggle again this week. Bears will step up big time in this one! Sandore is fast!
28-14 Jefferson!
Yikes.... 30 - 24 I doubt. I think Chris's pick of 28 - 7 will be way off too. I see GI in the 40 range and Jefferson may get to the double digits since we will be playing our #2's for a good part of the game. Not to be cocky, GI is firing on all cylinders now and they will be a tough team to stop on the O side and as long as our D plays their game we could probably stop them from scoring more than 7 get everyone in.
Jefferson will need to have everything go right and then some to even keep it close. Hopefully they will come out focused and play hard. It is homecoming, so hopefully it will be a hard fought game. Still think GI will win
30-24
