  • To be clear...I make no mention of this years GI squad to be anything like last year or that the winds are blowing any stronger or weaker.

I still like your thinking 10:39.

HOWEVER, if SMCC limps off the island after a ground attack thrashing and healthy dose from the DUDE's, the weather man may interrupt regularly scheduled programing!!!!

    SITOFN

  • How them Devils???? 2-0 who would of thunk it? Are the Devils on the path to have a repeat of last years season? Maybe SITOFN is correct and the prevailing winds on GI are stronger than before....

  • 12:56 poster , SMCC has had the toughest schedule of any team in the league, Crockett, Plymouth, Bedford, nouvel, divine child...... Those are just over the last 6-7 years or so. Do people even do research before they speak or just let the sour grapes in their mouth take over?

  • 2:06 pm poster..... Most teams that run the spread offense are successful these days- Huh? You cannot be serious? No matter what offense you run you must have talent to make it work. Sone offenses however like the full house T, rely on angle blocking schemes, deception and the attempt to overwhelm the opponent at the point of attack thus requiring less talent. Ask the blog owner if he prefer the school at which he works and roots for WTO run the T or the spread? Interested to see his answer.

    • Doesn't Grosse Ile run the spread??? Must have too much talent to run T formation. Interesting how GI is successful at running the spread.

    • Most high schools that run the spread obviously have the talent to do so. Duh?? You're telling me that you don't need much talent to run T formation?? SMCC and Jefferson should still dominate everyone because they have less talent and run the T right??? And no I'm not involved in any school in Huron League.

  • My opinions on offense are based on seeing games outside of our area. Thats great if you like the same old boring offense that only works in Monroe county because most of the other teams in Monroe county run it. Get out in the real world and see all these other offenses. SMCC leads area in scoring from time to time because they play Monroe school of the blind at the beginning of the season and some newly formed academy at the end, then they move down 2 or 3 divisions and play tiny public schools in the playoffs. Small school, hand picked kids, giant advantage. If the rest of us could do that we would be just as successful.

Im not on here much, but I see same opinions all the time, thought I'd chime in and muddy the waters a bit.
No sour grapes. By the way, Jefferson has a quarterback coming from Alabama next year and Airport has 2 linebackers coming up from Ohio. Must be school of choice I guess. LOL

  • Jefferson could also put a ton of points on the board with the spread offense. They have the speed to do it. A lot of talent is being wasted by coaches running smashmouth boring offenses that don't work unless you're big and strong.

  • dont have to ask he is my nephew so i know the answer.but it is more then football or the coach . i coached him in middle school . i agree on school of choice

  • I should re-phrase on SMCC running the offense to perfection. When they have the team to run it they make it look great. 2 years ago they made that offense look very good. As with Jefferson-with the right personel it could be a dominant offense. Most teams that run spread offense are successful these days. Airport has the personnel to dominate with a spread offense this year. But for some reason they won't change the boring offense.
