  • Keep in mind bn, GI completely shut CC down and had their starters pulled by halftime just like they did all but 2 games this season. So even if it was closer the outcome would of most likely been the same.

PS... half of the starters on the GI team were Freshmen too so the future of this "freshmen class" rivalry seems pretty interesting.

  • Keep in mind SITOFN you played CC without the 9 frosh up. I am sure it would have been a better game. Great, great freshman class.

  • Food for thought...GI JV results broken down:
    -Score total for/against: 296/116
    -Avg score for/against: 33/13
-Huron and View were lowest O output at 21 & 19 and also closest games.
-Dundee is only team that scored over teens (22).
-Avg total score less Huron and View result is almost 40.

9-0 with some lopsided spreads is what prompts my comments...Agree Huron and View were tight/good games.

    SITOFN

  • I am embarrassed I just wasted my time reading this crap about SOC. This has nothing to do with successful Huron League Football. I am sure there is another blog this argument.
Good Islanders this week. Do the league proud.

  • Some would argue that Airport wasn't any good in football until the trailer parks started popping up in the Airport district.

That thought is about as pathetic as the Airport people cryuing that none of their trailer park kids play sports.

  • The only ones who should spout an opinion on school of choice are the ones that pay taxes in that district. Of course a school of choice kid is going to be pro school of choice because he or she benefits from it. The Riverview Community School District has existed for 50 plus years just fine without school of choice, so quit the doomsday scenario. The bottom line is it hurts the athletic programs, making the school play up a division, when only a few of the kids on the team are school of choice. And Riverview was also a very good team before school of choice ever came around. It's sad that it's about greed and money now, and not about educating the kids in your own community. Just open the doors and let everybody in.

  • This is not a political BLOG so I'll make sure to use Football as the basis for this post....
SOC hater... some of the best players on YOUR TEAM are SOC kids. So shut it. Allowing the kids to LEAVE THE CRAP districts and come to the better district's like Riverview is GOOD for the system as a whole, NOT bad!! If you lived in oh lets say Detroit... and couldn't afford to buy a house in Riverview but could get your kids a better education there, you would still send them to Detroit schools?

  • School of choice sucks. You want to go to a certain school than move there. It is about community, etc. Comparing the Lions and college teams is stupid. They have nothing to do with home values, etc. They used to say when you bought a home, you look at school system first. What a joke now.
The public schools are and should be a reflection of the community.
It is all about money, period.
The Detroit Public schools are failing, where are all those kids going? School of choice schools that have communitites that still care about their neighborhoods, etc.
The entire education system in this state is old and needs to be changed. Michigan educationin as a whole is terrible. School of choice is one of the results of this.
You want to go to school in RIverview, Milan or Flat ROck? Then live there, or go to private schools. SMCC, I am sure will take you.
