Going into the last two seasons the Falcons of SMCC have been everyone’s pick for league champs. The usual suspects are gone but many feel the SMCC program is just too strong to give up it’s stranglehold on the league championship. Falcon coach Jack Giarmo simply reloads every season and this year should be no different.
Offensively, the Falcons graduated nearly everyone but look for last season’s back up QB and team captain Mitchell Lehman to lead the Falcon powerful running game. The running game will most likely run behind the monsterous 280 lb Junior Alex McLaughlin.
Defensively, SMCC will be replacing virtually everyone as well but will be able to rely on seniors Michael Thibault, Eric Tasker, Brandon Adler and Jake Beste.
SMCC will open up on Saturday at Eastern Michigan against last season’s Division I runner up Plymouth Wildcats. The Falcons will open league play at Huron next Thursday.
