11:59....if you haven't noticed, your assumption is WRONG about GI.
We like the HL and we really like the Huron League WITH SMCC!!!
I'll even take it one step furhter, If SMCC exits (or is forced out) the league, I'll be the first GI supporter in the ADs', Principles, Superintendants' and school board offices DEMANDING that we go somewhere else too.
Grow the league, make divisions if necessary because almost all schools have a sport (or 2) that they excell in.
I think you all know how I feel about GI Football...previous comments about the D are only based on FACT, not opinion. My only add to other comments would be that coaching issues NEVER start in the middle or bottom, only at the TOP.
BTW..congrats to all the HL team that made the playoffs!

If we bring in teams from the LCAA, than we will be doomed. It would only water down the league and make us worse.
Post at 11:59 . GI never complains about the Huron League, We complain about the lack of proper defensive coaching in our program. It has gone on for the last 4 years so that is our vaild complaint. It has nothing to do with the Huron League itself.
Hey Anonymous - Grosse Ile DOES NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HURON LEAGUE. Grosse Ile complains about the lack of Defensive Coaching on Grosse Ile. SMCC should not be "Kicked out" of the league. I agree that the league should expand - bring on the other teams!
GI parent
I don't remember Milan complaining about the Huron League. News to me!
There really is nothing left to say about that except....amen.
Maybe they should actually expand the Huron League. IDA, Dundee, and Erie Mason do not belong in the LCAA. Milan complains about the Huron League as does Grosse Ile so one of them can leave. Maybe Grosse Ile can compete in the Down River League or Milan in their old Southeastern league. Then you would have Flatrock, IDA, Dundee, Mason,SMCC,Airport,Huron,Jefferson,Riverview,(Milan or Grosse Ile)or keep both and bring in another team like Carlson or Trenton or Lincoln. Anyway 10 or 12 teams with 2 divisions. Just a thought. With that mix every school would have a sport or two they will compete in year in year out. Otherwise go complain to your AD and cry to them to get you out of the league.
That was beautiful, Anonymous at 9:49am on 11/6/10. I loved it. No jokes.
whiner. You looking to make the Huron like another LCAA? SMCC has had lean years in the past, other Huron teams have had more dominant teams, nothing has changed. SMCC's starting line-up is still composed of the offspring of alumni just like most of the public high school kids because kids tend to go to the same schools their parents did. So blame the Falcons/Kestrels parents, grandparents and great-grandparents for producing a lineage of athletes that are driven and determined and make up for what they lack in size or speed with HEART.
Will that solve your schools inability to compete? So lets just say for laughs that happens and some other school say... Flat Rock becomes the dominant team in the League are you going to eventually kick them out until your school can win? Should we kick Airport out because they are good in baseball or possibly Huron because they wrestle well or possibly Milan because track is good? Be for real! Maybe if you as a parent, fan, player, or alumni would realize it takes more than just wishing you were better to make you better. If your school would improve themselves then they may win a playoff game. Good teams have a difficult time in the playoffs, it is not easy just because SMCC wins. CC is riding a good group of seniors presently. High school football is a roller coaster some years you are up and others you are down. Just two years ago the present seniors had 8 boys on varsity, they lost twice in the Huron League. Now suddenly CC should be kicked out? Maybe a reason some teams are consistently better than others is stupid comments like yours. Always making excuses for your teams failures. Just a thought.
