It looks like we have every game covered tonight except the SMCC/Airport game. Please send some comments regarding the game tonight and I will get it written up. Score at the quarters, half and final would be great along with who scored and when. I will be able to provide all the readers with a game summary by 10:30 pm if somebody can help out. Thanks!

Homegrown!Airport might wanna use more fertilizer..CCs better hands down.Recruiting...please grow another excuse.
7:55; Good points...it takes a team.
11:18; Intersting comments, however I think GI certainly must have thought keeping the ball in their offensive possession was more advantageous than a field position battle with CC.....I may not agree with that but I can understand the logic based on points against this year for GI.
SITOFN
Does GI always play 4 down football? They went for it on 4th down everytime vs SMCC. even when the ball was on their own 30 in the first half. They also called a timeout with 1 min left in the half on their own 25 on 4th down and ran a play. Strange.
SMCC recruits!! from St. Mary, St. John, St. Mikes, St. Charles, St. Pats..... come to St. Charles field tomorrow at 12 and see all the future recruits playing with and against eachother.
Was not at the GI - FR game but understand the O (or kick off team) left the defense with their butts against the goal line three times. Not saying that D cannot improve, but let's at least give them a chance. Similar problem in all the losses (O giving up the pill on the wrong end of the field and special teams struggling).
Keep the faith !
When was the last time your team won and you left the field feeling like you didn't....hard to explain but GI sure made me feel that way.
Lets see here; turnovers, big plays against, SLOW start, D??, pilfering the JV again, the list goes on and on.
So I'll choose to look at the bright side, we won. But it wasn't pretty and the elements of GI's program that could have shown some signs of improvement actually went backwards (except the running game which is encouraging).
Air**** next week boys, they are no FR...still not strapped tight on the island but you get another chance this week. Somebody please pass the magic D dust to GI cause whatever they're doing now ain't workin'.
SITOFN
I watched the SMCC-Airport game last night and offer the following observations: Airport had opportunities, and gave CC the best league game they have had yet, but in the end Airport just relies too heavily on one guy, and that can hurt you in the long run.
Something else, while watching a game an Airport parent said to me "at least our kids are homegrown, not recruited". Anyone who feels that way needs to look at SMCC's roster, the one they publish showing where there kids went to elementary school. What you'll see is "St Johns, St Mikes, St Mary's" etc. Oh there is a kid who went to the football powerhouse at Meadow Montessori (ha ha), but other than that all these kids are as "homegrown" as anybody's. Unless this "recruiting took place around 1st or second grade, when exactly did it take place? It's always an easy excuse when a school loses to a private school, and I am not saying it doesn't happen, but in this case it simply has no merit. So to those of you who like to minimize the SMCC programs accomplishments by throwing around the "recruiting" label, do your homework. These are CYO kids, many of which have parents who are alumni. The fact is it simply is one of the best run programs in the region, hands down.
CC 34 Airport 21 basically what everyone thought but maybe a little closer
This could be a blowout but you never know, you always to to account for the potential revenge factor, 2008 Milan beats airport 26-14, than the following year Airport turns the table on them in a big wy, 49-21 in a game that wasnt even that close(milan had a kickoff and punt return td). Last year CC spanks Airport,I know the seniors on this Airport team remember the bad feeling of last years lost and ready to get revenge. So who knows, we'll see.
Then in my humble opinion the best game going tonight will be a three touchdown blowout. I've seen SMCC twice and Airport three times against common opponents, this game will be over early.
