It’s Official

By an overwhelming majority the readers of the blog have tabbed the SMCC Falcons as the team to beat in the Huron League this year.

That seems like a logical pick as the Falcons return a host of talented players from last year’s league champs and Division VI runner up.

  • Looks like Airport is going to play on friday's, so we can get the Airhead stuff outta here.

I'm sure it is a tough standard, either way I look forward to stepping onto the island to watch the game. Assuming GI's defense steps up, we might actually have a game worth watching.

You get to play GI at OUR HOUSE this year.....on FRIDAY NIGHT as it should be.

I'm really tired of tradition getting trampled by litigious/minority/liberal/bigot
BS. Typical political posturing of our country now-a-days.

All the threads on this subject in this Blog have a MAJORITY of peoples comments in favor of "FRIDAY NIGHT, UNDER THE LIGHTS"....go look.

Get some lights...no excuses!! It's Airhead until it's done.

BTW...thanks for your vote of perfection on GI, it's a tough standard to live up to.

  • To: CCSBC...at least they will be watchin from Ford Feild...you'll be at home still whinning....Good Luck to whom ever makes it...and CC was in the dance all the way until the end.Dont kid yourself

  • When they total up all the districts that a private school pulls from, count up all the kids in those districts, arrive at some ridiculous huge number (like 6,000 for SMCC) and claim that number to be the number of kids the local private school “pulls from” or “picks their players from” or even “draws from”.
All this while the total number of kids in the boundaries of any one of the single public schools is maybe 1,000. Then they compare the 6k to the 1k and cry foul.
Let’s take the 6,000 through an exercise.
Let’s say you get the 6,000 together in an auditorium. Let’s see how many of them really make up the pool that the local Private school pulls from.
    1) Are you Catholic? If not, are you OK with a school environment that prioritizes Catholic teachings and has students attend mass regularly?
    If no, leave.
    2) Tuition is $9,000.00 per kid, per year. That going to be a problem?
    If so, leave.
    3) You need to pay for or provide your own transportation. That going to be a problem?
    If so, leave.
    4) No jeans, tee-shirts, facial hair, piercings, or haircuts that we don’t approve of at our sole discretion. That going to be a problem?
    If so, leave.
    5) You are going to have to pass our admissions exam. Basically the top 275 scorers get admitted. That going to be a problem?
Some will be asked to leave.
    6) We don’t offer trade classes or non-College Prep courses. That going to be a problem?
    If so, leave.
How many are left? No where near close to the original outrageous number. Nowhere even close.
In fact, if it were still 6k, then there would be private schools being built all over the area, and SMCC would expand.
But it's supply and demand. SMCC's supply equals the demand but it isnt 6k.

  • The huron League has addopted the everyone feel good about themselves policy. Everyone will get a trophy just for participating as well as lemon drink and orange slices to be passed out to all participants.

  • Word is Canton has gotten slightly too good for the KLAA and they are kicking them out too. This is getting rediculous!
