In looking back on my blog. It was 12/23/09 when the Huron League Football Blog reported that Redmond would be leaving Airport to take the job at Monroe.
Just another reason why to check into the Huron League Football Blog regularly.
Here is a quick reprint of the blog from that day.
I try to be as detailed as I possibly can on this blog and usually don’t report speculation and innuendo but I have received way too many specific details that say Monroe will hire Eric Redmond as their next football coach.
With that said, there are quite a few details that would need to be hammered out to make the move official but it looks like the only thing that would stop the move would be Redmond changing his mind.
I have two thoughts on this subject and they are:
1)Great move by Monroe. Redmond is an excellent coach and the Trojans have the talent to be a Division I power every year. Look for positive changes immediately for the Monroe Football Program.
2)Where does Airport go from here? Redmond is almost irreplaceable. The Airport brass will have a hard time finding anyone than can match what Redmond brought to the table.
Good luck to both programs as they look to move on from here.

I agree the AD said they would hire a coach by March at the latest, which is definetly way too late.
Mays and Kitts are talented but watch what the underclassmen bring. With the right coach this team is potent for several years. Redmonds influence will be around this coming season - it doesn't fade overnight. Its important that Airport's athletic leadership gets off their butts and aggressively get a worthy coach now - or they will loose all the momentum Redmond provided.
The two best kids for Airport are Mays and Kitts.
The lose of Redmond is only a major problem if Airport AD doesn't act quickly. They need a coach now to start work on the program and reassure the kids. Redmond has been done with Airport for some time and his presence at Monroe guarentees nothing. Airport will have 3 very good running backs, receivers with hands,a future all league tackle and a sophmore QB that throws a better ball than most kids in the county. Its all up to the leadership at Airport. He will regret leaving!
chris can you write something about kids who are getting offers or ones you know that are already going to college to play ball
post something that ill get people talking chris.
Seriously though Chris.. good job!
I will regularly check this blog AND click on all the advertisements, why?
Because it is right to give thanks and praise.
it depends on who they bring in. next year, yes, they will be average, the are way short on senior leadership (good time for Redmond to leave) and overall talent, plus its alwasy tough times after a change but after that, they will return.
GO...CC Starting to stir things up early
I think that Airport is in T_R_O_U_B_L_E. They have been in the top of the league for over a decade. Coach Redmond really turned that program into something, and I think that they will fall for a few years.
