Go JETS!!
Wow… why is everyone picking on ol Rusty. Rusty is probabally the smartest offensive lineman Airport has ever put through the system and I guarantee he has more heart than most, he just thinks and lets his ego and brain power get to him now and then. Leave Rusty alone, this is a Huron League forum.
The Jets had better be ready to play, no early lack luster performance like they had with Flushing will work with Chelsea. Chelsea is a winnable game, they have not beat anyone tough this year and lost to AA Pioneer and Adrian, the only 2 good teams on their schedule. Expect Airports Defense to key on Nick Hill as that’s all they have.
Luv ya Rusty…. justafan
It sure was nice to skip over Rustayo predictable nonsense comments. A proven hypocrate/hate monger has no place here......BUT at least he's consistent.
SITOFN
I agree about the property tax. I choose to send my children to a private school. I agree with you Huronleaguefootball. It's a choice and we shouldn't get special rights because of it.
Rustayo, I agree with you also when you say that smcc deserves their own field. I think they do. In the future I hope they find a way for them to have their own field.
I really still would love to see SMCC get their own field, I do think they deserve one, or even if they just improved Navarre it would be nice. I also would love to see Airport make some improvements and add more seating. But, the important things are that they get to host home games in the playoffs, and really the money should be used for better schooling.
Do you people really have to question how would Riverview or GI do against Adrian and Chelsea. Riverview the future is good but you're done with football, you went 3-6. And I think I hate GI more than SMCC, because at least SMCC has earned the right to talk. (If you can make an Airport grad hate someone more than SMCC, it's bad, and GI parents, you have earned that honor) The other schools not mentioned have done proper so far and move on to basketball season.
And did anyone see how loaded Division 3 is? There are 2 9-0 top 5 teams in the state in a same district, the weakest one honestly is the Airport district, which is also a tough good district. Carlson got the luckiest break getting in D-2 with all Downriver teams. I don't think they'd have a chance in D-3
No Chris, I do not feel that I, or anyone that sends there kids to private schools should be refunded a dime.
Just making a point, that we still put money into the public school system.
Actually, several years ago, there was a proposal on the Michigan ballot for a small tax credit to property owners that chose to send their kids to private schools so it's not that crazy of an idea-it made it to the ballot but didn't pass, not suprisingly.
Not enough visitor bleachers at Huron or Airport either. Spent many games either on the fence 2-3 people deep or in the home team stands.
Is that how it works? Do you really think your property taxes should be returned because you "choose" to send your son to a private institution? I hope not.
Many people "choose" to send their kids to private institutions including me right now. We can't expect special rights because of a "choice" we make.
Let the people chirp about your field all they want. The field is fine, it is just a little tough to watch the game this season for a visiting team.
Playing at Monroe High on Saturday Nights would be a great alternative. You could also play there on Friday's when Monroe is away.
Lets see, I've been sending my son to Catholic School for 13 yrs. now.
But I still have to pay money to the Public School system in the form of Property Tax.
Get that money returned to me, and all the parents like me, and we will make a donation to make repairs at Navarre Field!!
Why isn't the bashing against Monroe Public, after all they are the owners of Navarre, the ones who tore down the home side bleachers with no plan to replace them. The bleechers on what is now the visitors side came from Munson park. Very poor planning on Monroe Public's part and from what they charge for rental of Navarre can more than adequate replace the bleechers and press box and should of. The handicapped fans have no access to either set of bleechers, shame on Monroe Public Schools!!
