SMCC/Huron: SMCC/MCC owns this series with a 39-1 record including 22 in a row dating back to 1987. SMCC owns 18 Huron League championships Huron has zero. SMCC has been to the playoffs 14 times Huron has never been there. SMCC rarely throws the ball Huron throws it better than any team in the league. This is a matchup of two completely different teams and programs but they both enter this game with the same goals; win this game, win the league, make the playoffs. SMCC probably has a goal or two more than that but you get the picture.
Huron is coming off an extremely big win over Jefferson. The Chiefs must put that behind them and figure out a way to stop the awesome ground attack of the Falcons. Look for the Chiefs to stack the line of scrimmage and pray that the SMCC backs don’t get into the open field. Huron will look to get it’s high octane offense going and try to get SMCC off of their game plan.
SMCC looks like their starting to hit their stride. They pummeled Flat Rock early last week and will try to do the same to the Chiefs. SMCC’s secondary needs to be on top of their game to contain the Chief aerial attack. They must be aware of the elusive Sterling Wilson or he can hurt you.
This isn’t a game Huron needs to win. Last weeks game provided more pressure on the Chiefs. SMCC was a league favorite coming in and nothing has changed. If there is any pressure, it may be on the Falcons considering their recent history against the pass. There should be a big crowd at Huron this week and they should see an entertaining game. I think Huron can score on SMCC but it isn’t going to be enough. Look for a SMCC win 41-28.
Airport/Jefferson: This is a great rivalry game. The two districts border each other and most of the kids know each other. The games are always hard fought even though Airport has basically owned this rivalry for a decade.
Jefferson is coming off a tough loss at home to Huron. Coach Cisco may be kicking himself for throwing the ball at all against Huron last week. The Chiefs had a hard time against the power running game and Jefferson seemed to go backward when throwing. The Bears need to establish Bryan McCullough early. Look for him to carry the ball 25 times or more this week.
Airport was simply brilliant last week. They dismantled Milan and looked poised to repeat as league champions this year. Look for the offense to be a bit more diverse this week against a Bear defense poised to stop the run. Defensively, the Jets will load the box and dare Jefferson to throw the ball.
Jefferson is a program that always plays with pride but they will have their hands full this week. Airport is just that good. I don’t see a repeat of last years low scoring contest. Look for Airport to score a bunch of points again this week. Jets win 34-19.

HURON OVER CC.. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. Nothing like an "early humbling"..
dont make such a bad call and i wouldnt say that, but ill talk to you after the airport jefferson game.
Now, now....name calling is just not right on this blog. He may be stupid for calling Jefferson over Airport, but "your just dumb" is over the top.
Besides....if Jefferson pulls one out of the hat then "your just dumb" get free right to call the poster "your just dumber"!!
for the kid that said jefferson shocks airport.. your just dumb.
You guys really have some issues with CC after all these years. I read all the posts and all are talking up their own teams. CC's team this year is humble and wants to win just like everyone else. It's the old timers doing all the talking and igniting the old rivalries. Why don't you old guys get suited up and have your own geezer bowl. "You can do it!"
Everyone is "Cursed" by Centrals big heads! Remember the school motto..."Were better than you"!
Everyone I talked to tonight at the Milan/Airport 7 & 8th grade games have their fingers crossed that Huron continues their improvement, and whips SMCC...
He's right, we're not flat rock, we're HURON! Huron is gonna go into this game fired up and as I'v stated many times before, the chiefs are not just gonna allow smcc to take the win. They're gonna fight just as hard to get this win then ever. All those thinking SMCC is just gonna run all over Huron, rethink that. Airport and Huron was a close game and the only thing that killed it was hurons defense. That was then, this is now. Hurons defense is ready and not making mental mistakes anymore. This will be a close game and if huron gives it their all, i can honestly see Huron coming out of this one with a W. Say all you want but no team is unbeatable, not even SMCC. Just your team has to have the heart and want to win and play hard to get it.
WOW! Every comment the blog posts, those CC guys have to poke a stick at anyone who makes a prediction, or has an opinion. What attitude! My favorite team, is anyone who plays CC from now on!
Don’t forget, Airport is getting Quentin Draftz back and he has been lighting up practice and will start both ways this week. Another weapon for a good team.
SMCC will quite the Huron up rise, I don’t think it will be a close game but I don’t think it will be the blow out everyone expects. Looks for a disciplined SMCC team to control the ball and keep it out the Huron’s offense hands.
