  • Huron will make the playoffs this year, the coaching staff have these kids ready to play, huron has alot of play makers that can compete with the best of them.

  • That 2006 Airport team hands down i thought was going to win the league. Three year starting linebacker, and two both way starters on offense and defense. Lost 14-12 to Jefferson and 12-7 to CC without them. Still pissed about it, shouldnt have happened and cost a team a league championship. Its not like those three kids didnt play, they played huge roles. Lost to Chelsea in a mudfest rain storm, didnt even count as football. Should have been 10-0 but again partying ruined a season.

  • STILLLLLLLLLLLLL HURON HASN'T BEAT ANYONE..Jefferson, and Erie Mason?? I promise everyone on this forum that they WON'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS....too many games, too many times to make mistakes..too much can happen.they won't beat milan..i promise...Huron may have one of the best backs in the huron league, in Sterling Wilson..he opens up the passing game for mayrand, who has thrown some key INT's in KEY situations....

  • There were alot of penalties but Huron deserved to be in the game and had a chance to win it. Dont blame the refs.

  • SMCC'S GAME AGAINST HURON SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THIS CLOSE. SMCC HAD WAAAAAY TOO MANY PENALTIES. THE TEAM NEEDS TO BE MORE DISCIPLINED.

  • Well, I ended up 3-1 on picks, just some thoughts on this week. Huron, I now think you will beat Milan, that game proved that you are finally capable of being a playoff team (sure you lost, but you're still set up for a relatively easy road to the playoffs, just don't choke vs. FR) Airport and SMCC still showed why they are the 2 best teams in the league. I still will not jump on the GI band wagon, they are improved but have no capabilities of beating good teams (I know you were close vs. Jefferson, they are not that good, and that was before this Mike Oley incident). I can't believe what Riverview has come to, to think that they went to the D-3 semis a few years ago, and they are now at the bottom of the league. I don't know how Jefferson will be able to do after all that has just transpired. Which leads me to this message:

People who followed the Huron League back in '06 will know what I'm talking about here. Airport had one of their most talented teams in school history, all stars on offense and defense, looked poised to make a very deep run in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the 2 captains of the team were into weed. They showed up to the Jefferson game high, and weren't able to perform to their capabilities, resulting in a huge loss. A week later, after a bounceback win, the 2 captains and a star player were busted at a party by the cops. One missed the rest of the season from suspension, the others missed 4 games a piece (Including rival SMCC). Because of partying and drugs, the team was dismantled and went out in the first round of the playoffs. I was hoping that would be the lesson from there on out, that people would be smarter during football season. After what just happened though, I guess I was wrong. My message is pretty much summed up by DON'T PARTY DURING FOOTBALL SEASON, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OPPORTUNITIES IN LIFE TO DO THAT. That being said, can't wait for CC vs Airport, only 2 weeks people, we can make it!!!

  • WOW, it is much worse at Riverview than I first thought. The Pirates are trying but do not know what it takes to win a game. They had a couple great chances to tie it up but came up short in the 4th. Flat Rock played well and Riverview could not answer their running game. It is going to be another long year for the Pirates of Riverview. It makes me sad to see this once proud program this far down in the dumps. I hope that these kids can hold their heads up high.
