Grosse Ile/Detroit Western: This is a battle between two teams that currently have 20 game winless streaks. GI looks like they might be a better team this year. Western will continue to struggle in the PSL. The streak is over…….Uh Uh oh Grosse Ile wins! 34-14.
Flat Rock/Ida: Its nice to see these two teams playing again. They have taken a hiatus for 3 years. The Rams think they have a pretty good team. Ida returns 15 seniors. Look for some home cooking in Monroe County. Ida wins 26-19.
Riverview/Crestwood: The Pirate faithful have been waiting for this moment a long time. Jeff Stergalas is finally home and Crestwood will be his teams first victim. Riverview wins 28-13.
Milan/Ypsilanti: Milan has a lot of question marks entering the season. They will find out a lot about themselves against the Braves on Friday night. Ypsi wins 26-21.
Huron/Erie Mason: The Chiefs dropped the JV team it has played the last two years in the opener. It won’t matter, Huron scores early and often against the Eagles Huron in a rout 42-13.
Jefferson/Tecumseh: This is a tough opener for the Bears. If they can pull off a win it could set the tone for the season. Unfortunately so could a loss. Tecumseh wins 20-14.
Airport/Bedford: Bedford is still smarting from last years 3 touchdown loss. This should be a great game and could go either way. Airport wins a thriller 35-34.
SMCC/Crockett: This looks like a tough matchup for the Falcons. A loss won’t hurt them and a win could really give them confidence. This game will prepare them for a long playoff run. Crockett wins 18-14.

nice call on the milan game! lol. it wasn't about milan being that great though, ypsi may have their worst team in school history.
Milan over Ypsi 49-12. Keep picking against them, please!
I agree with Jumping the gun on GI...except the other way. They will post a goose egg...just like the JV did.
Airport should have a pretty good team, but there is an awful lot of confidence that the Jets will win decisively.
Remember that Bedford has a school of 700-800 more students. They got much better throughout last season and now have a full year under their belt with head coach Jeff Wood. The Mules will also have the best player on the field in Mason Cole (C/DE).
Airport might win the game, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and assume that it will be an easy task.
Bedford/Airport Thriller??? hmmm i dont think so. Airport wins by 3 TDs like last year.
Need to check you on the Ida / Flat Rock game. Ida does not return 25 seniors. They returns 15, 4 of which were starters last year. Oh, by the way, Flat Rock returns 17 seniors. OOPs!
I wouldn't be jumping the gun on a 34-14 win for GI. If they win it will be close. Defense wins games and both teams have given up a ton of points in the past. The team that can squeak out a better defensive show will win the best of the bottom wich could be the only win for the year for either team.
Your Right, GI will not win by 20....30 is a much more accurate number.
Bedford football program is not even close to the level of Airports... and this is not a down year at all for Airport... will not be a thriller...Flat Rock may be able to beat the Blue Streaks with a strong running back... and yes Grosse Ile will finally win a game but not by 20
How does a preconference win in game one prepare a team for a long playoff run. This makes absolutely no sense.
