GI recap:
The good; Defense nearly put another goose egg on the board (late long pass on broken coverage) like the JV. The Offense had 4 different scorers (Church, Burr, White, Teen) so they weren't completely one dimensional.
The bad: There were moments of bend don't break on defense and the offense had poor timing/execution and looked "predictable" early.
The verdict: Room for improvement on both sides of the ball and the players know they can do better. The defense will still be the key to HL success and Bodner will straighten out the X's and O's.
Strap it up tight boys!
That last comment bothers me, but all that matters is the bears won buddy.
Really it seemed they came to play 48 minutes of football? because they were shut out in the first half sounds to me like 24 minutes of football
GI lead 7-0 at half and really couldn't get their offense going. Western turned the ball over four times in the first half though which kept them off the scoreboard. The Devils took care of business in the second half though. Teen had 150 on the ground and averaged 7.5 per carry.
The bears showed their true heart in that game. They were out sized but kept fighting. They came to play 48 minutes of football and it showed.
Way to go BEARS!! Outsized but never quit battling in the trenches.Great way to start the season keep it going.
Great Game Jefferson. Most had you losing your first game. Hard work and the "Cisco Mentality" will ensure a decent year.
